David is a Managing Director and Co-founder of SVP Capital Advisors and has over 10 years of experience in venture capital, operations, and investment banking. Prior to moving to China in 2004, David worked at Idealab, a US$1 billion fund and leading creator of technology businesses such as Overture Services (acquired by Yahoo), CitySearch (now IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ: IACI)), and Internet Brands (NASDAQ: INET). At Idealab, he initially worked as a Business Development Manager at MyHome.com, an online retailer of home furnishings, where he was involved with fundraising, partnership development, and the eventual sale of the company to Eve.com. Afterwards, David joined Idealab’s New Ventures Group where he was responsible for making investment recommendations and launching new ventures in the Internet, broadband, and robotics sectors.

Prior to Idealab, David worked in the Media and Communications investment banking division at Schroders (acquired by Citigroup) in New York and Arthur Andersen’s Corporate Finance Advisory Practice where he advised on over US$1.5 billion in completed M&A transactions for both public and private companies.

David has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Cornell University. He is a frequent guest speaker in the areas of entrepreneurship and capital raising at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, where he also was an M.B.A. exchange student.

Steve is a Managing Director and Co-founder of SVP Capital Advisors and has an extensive financial background that includes advising clients on capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and valuation. Prior to moving to China in 2005, Steve was a Finance Manager for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment where he focused on budgeting, allocating marketing resources, and other financial analyses for Fox's new release DVD titles.

Before Fox, Steve was a Senior Associate at Standard & Poor's Corporate Value Consulting (acquired by Duff & Phelps), where he provided valuation analyses for financial reporting, tax, and litigation engagements. Steve also worked in the M&A groups of Nationsbanc Montgomery Securities (now Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and EquiCo Capital Markets (now McGladrey Capital Markets), an international investment bank specializing in middle-market M&A transactions, where he completed over 30 valuations of private businesses with enterprise values totaling over US$300 million. He was also a Summer Associate in the High Yield Research group of J.P. Morgan Securities in New York.

Steve holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of CFA China. He graduated with Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Business-Economics and Minor in Accounting and earned his M.B.A. from Cornell University. He is an avid mixed martial arts (MMA) fan and in his spare time, trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
